Color Coded Keg Post O-Rings at William’s Brewing

  • William’s Brewing has introduced a line of color coded keg o-rings. Choose from black, red, green and blue.  These are for keg posts.  All are functionally similar, just different colors so you can color code posts if you so choose.
  • These are a bit pricey at 49 cents each.
  • The other potential issue is that the material type isn’t listed.  No word on whether they are silicone or Buna-N and… they aren’t listed as food grade.  More about this topic: Food Safe Replacement Keg O-Rings

Worth a hard lookValuebrew has a lineup of food safe silicone orings that are available in bulk at a much lower price.  Chose from standard orange, custom blue, custom green and pin lock specific o-rings.

NEW Cornelius Lids [Ball and Pin Lock Kegs] – $14.69 + Free Ship Eligible

New Cornelius Keg Lid with New pressure relief valve (lid o-ring included)

Brand new Replacement Keg Lid via Adventures in Homebrewing

Works on Pin Lock AND Ball Lock Kegs! One difference between Pin Lock and Ball Lock kegs is the type of lids that come with each.  Ball Locks, generally, have a manual PRV valve, while Pin Locks do not.  Ball Lock style lids are, in my opinion, superior because the manual PRV allows you to easily vent your keg as needed.  The good news is that, for standard kegs, the lids are the same size and can be interchanged.  That means you can use a Ball Lock style lid in a Pin Lock Keg.  Related: What’s the Difference Between Ball Lock Kegs and Pin Lock Kegs?

Corny Keg Fermenter Lids – convert kegs to fermenters – $14 + free ship eligible

ferment in keg

Cornelius Keg Fermenter Lid via Adventures in Homebrewing.

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

By popular demand, we now have a brand new version of the Secondary Fermentation lid.

What a great way to use your corny keg as a secondary fermenter! Simply replace your existing lid with this lid to turn your keg into a secondary fermentation vessel!

These lids have an approximate 3/4″” inch port hole (may vary by 1/8″”) for an airlock, bung and lid o-ring (included).

They will not fit Racetrack kegs.

These have a hole that’s designed to accommodate the included stopper and airlock.  That allows you use a Cornelius Keg as a fermenter.  Use a 5 gallon keg as a secondary for a 5 gallon batch, use a 5 gallon keg as a primary fermenter for smaller batches or use a 10 gallon Cornelius Keg as a fermenter for 5 gallon+ batches.

These should fit standard ball lock and pin lock kegs.

I have two 10 gallon kegs that I use as primaries.  This allows you to do quite a few things including, easily transfer under pressure, ferment under pressure, carbonate in the primary fermenter and carbonate and serve from the primary (with a cut off dip tube).

Ferroday Carbonation Keg Lid + Diffusion Air Stone & Tubing – $25.99 + free shipping

FERRODAY Carbonation Keg Lid Cornelius Keg Lid Soda Beer Forced Carbonation Homebrew Carbonator Stainless Steel 304 Carbonation Keg Lid with Diffusion Stone 20" Tube - Oval Keg Lid

Ferroday Ball Lock Carbonation Lid with Diffusion Stone

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

  • 【Includes All You Need】Keg lid + Air stone + 20 inch tubing; All the metal parts are made of SS304, the head of the pressure release valve is made of solid ABS, food safe tubing, gaskets, all sturdy and wear-resistant.
  • 【Widely Used for Home Brew】 Widely used to carbonate beer, soda, juice, water and even sparkling water. Fits to all the homebrew kegs that require a standard oval lid, normally called: corny keg/cornelius keg/ ball lock keg…This is a perfect choice for keg lid replacement!
  • 【Best Carbonation & No More Shaking】Forced Beer Carbonation: the diffusion stone will send a tremendous number of gas bubbles out through the beer and the miniscule bubbles will create a huge amount of surface area to help absorb CO2 rapidly into the beer! No need to shake the keg during carbonation anymore!
  • 【Safe Pressure Release & Cleaning Tips】 1. For safety concerns, the valve will automatically open up when pressure in the keg reaches 70 psi; 2. Please release the pressure in keg before open the keg. 3. Please clean the kit before and after each use, and please note the diffusion stone needs to be boiled in water to unclog pores.

This has a ball lock post on it that has in inlet on the inside of the keg. That inlet connects to tubing which in turn connections to a carbonation stone. This should work on standard ball lock and pin lock kegs, although you’ll need a ball lock QD to connect to it.

How do these work?  My theory… CO2 is dispersed through the stone into solution. This causes a small amount of movement in the liquid, this movement helps to the solution to come to equilibrium more quickly than simple head space pressure. I’m not saying this is a steady flow of bubbles, my guess is a slow, periodic occurrence, enough to speed up the process. This is a theory.

Great For Father’s Day… William’s Home Brewery – on Sale for $103.99

William's Bottling Home Brewery

William’s Bottling Home Brewery

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

Why Brew at Home?

If you are like most home brewers, you have a strong appreciation of fine beer, as well as an intrinsic curiosity into how it is made. Why buy a William’s Home Brewery? The quality of the final beer is only as good as the quality and freshness of the ingredients used, and quality brewing is only possible when basic brewing techniques are learned and followed. In addition, easy to use, well-designed equipment helps to make brewing a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Beer is not like wine. It is best when fresh, then deteriorates after 2 to 4 months. One of the great things about home brewing is knowing how fresh the beer is you are drinking. Unlike craft beer with an unknown production date, when you brew a William’s Kit, you can drink it at its prime every time. You will also save money.

Choose your First William’s Brewing Kit
When you order our Home Brewery, pick your first William’s Brewing Kit at a savings over separate purchase prices. Our kits are unique because they include William’s syrup malt extracts, condensed at low temperatures for a full grain flavor, fresh flavoring and aromatic hops, yeast strains specially selected to enhance the flavor of the finished beer, priming sugar, and illustrated brew-by-number instructions. Every kit has been repeatedly test-brewed in the William’s Brewlab to achieve a perfectly balanced blend of malt and hop flavors, and every kit on the selection list has been chosen because it is easy for beginners to brew.

Instruction & Support
All William’s Kits include brew-by-number kit instructions. We also include the fifth edition of Home Beermaking, an excellent beginners book. After you read the included book and brew a few batches, you will find that home brewing can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. To help you progress further, purchase of our brewery also gives you access to the William’s Customer Support line (either by phone or email), so you can get your brewing questions answered.

Traditional or Electric Brewing Kettle?
A 7 gallon or larger brewing kettle is needed for boiling the wort. We make this optional so you can choose between a traditional stainless brewing pot with valve, or a stand alone electric kettle so you can brew anywhere there is a 110 volt plug, and not be dependent on a stove or outdoor burner.

Wort Chiller Option:
We highly recommend a copper wort chiller to quickly cool your just boiled wort (unfermented beer) so fermentation can start as soon as possible, minimizing the risk of bacterial infection (copper transfers heat better than stainless). If you choose the copper Wort Chiller option, you will save $20.00 over separate purchase prices.

Included Equipment:
Included is a Siphonless Fermenter, which features a transfer valve, airlock, gasketed lid, and gallon markers that are easy to read due to the translucent plastic used. The included Priming Tank includes a bottling valve with a thermoplastic tube attachment that eliminates siphoning and makes bottling (or kegging) easy and fast. A kit is also included to convert your Priming Tank to a Secondary Fermenter if you need a secondary for a particular brew. A 18″ plastic stirring spoon is included to help you stir in the carbonating sugar. For the critical measurement which determines when the beer is ready to bottle, our handmade glass hydrometer features 1 degree calibrations for precise, easy to see readings, and includes a glass sample tube. For testing the temperature of the beer, a stainless steel dial thermometer is provided, which includes a calibration nut. In addition, transfer tubing is provided to transfer from your fermenter to the priming tank. To clean your equipment (vital to prevent sour beer), Brewer’s Edge Cleanser is included (enough to make 16 gallons of working solution). To clean your bottles, our bottle brush is included.

This is For Those Who Plan To Bottle Their Beer
This Brewery is set up for those who plan to bottle their own beer. The included Priming Tank includes a bottling valve for easy priming and bottle filling. Bottles can be salvaged from commercial beers (any beer bottle without a twist cap can be salvaged) or you can purchase bottles by going here. You will need 48 twelve ounce or equivalent bottles per 5 gallon batch.

Save $31.00 Over Separate Purchase Prices!
When you buy this package with an included kit, you save at least $31.00 over separate purchase prices. Get everything you need to get going and save money.

For a packing list of included items, click HERE.

Needed but not included: 48 twelve ounce beer bottles or equivalent. Salvage your own (any beer bottles without a twist cap will work), or purchase separately.

Keg Lids With Hang Tab Lid – makes dry hopping easy – $16.99 via William’s Brewing Keg Parts Sale

Keg Lid With Hang Tab

Keg Lid With Hang Tab via William’s Brewing

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

New lid with a hang tab welded on the bottom for hanging our Keg Infuser Ball, Keg Infuser Tube, and other straining bags. This fits Cornelius, Firestone, and Spartanburg brand kegs with 3″ by 3 1/2” oval lids. Includes a integral pressure relief valve. Maximum pressure 120 PSI. Includes a lid sealing O ring.

  • Hang Tabs! Keg Lid With Hang Tab – Unique hang tab design makes it easy to dry hop in the keg.
  • Manual vs Automatic PRV:  “Automatic PRV: sounds better than “Manual PRV”, but in my opinion, the opposite is true.  Both styles, generally, automatically vent at a set pressure for safety reasons.  Manual PRVs at the ability to…. manually activate the PRV.  That allows you to easily vent your keg as needed.  A tool is required to vent lids without manual PRV valves.
  • Works with both pin and ball lock kegs: In most cases, Pin lock and ball lock cornelius style keg lids are interchangeable from a size perspective.  That means you can, generally speaking, put a pepsi/ball lock style (manual prv) lid on a coke/pin lock style (no manual prv) keg.
  • An upgrade to pin lock style lids: In my book, that’s a solid upgrade.  See: What’s the Difference Between Ball Lock Kegs and Pin Lock Kegs?

This is discounted to just $16.99 via Wlliam’s Brewing’s Keg Parts Sale. Note: Discounted price reflected at checkout. Shipping is free or reasonably priced flat rate to addresses in the contiguous US depending on your order size for most items
