As homebrewers we love the “Back to Basics” way of life. We care about conserving our resources. That is why using less water matters to us.

You can save water during the cooling process with our MoreBeer! water efficient chiller with direct connect fittings for garden hoses. This coil has an inner water mixer that causes the cooling water to turbulate as it travels through the coil. This reduces the laminar flow found in standard chillers where only the outer water is cooled as it moves through the coil. The result is a 40% reduction in water, and faster cooling, when compared with our standard chillers.

ALL of our chillers feature coils that are raised up to where the heat is. Since heat rises and other wort chillers on the market have all the coils on the bottom, they actually never cool unless you stir your wort. The problem with stirring is that you mix up all your trub/sediment and you also risk airborne contamination. Our chillers cool fast and allow you to keep the lid on your kettle during the critical cooling period.

In a traditional wort chiller, the coils rest on the bottom of the pot and the hot wort on top takes a very long time to reach them, making the entire process time consuming and inefficient. Our original, simple innovation for the Immersion Wort Chiller from MoreBeer! is to move the coils right to the top where the majority of the heat is. This promises to give you the fastest heat exchange possible, to cool your wort down more efficiently and to get your brew into the fermenter as quickly and cleanly as possible. There is also no need to stir during chilling which reduces contamination and allows your trub and spent hops to settle to the bottom of your kettle.

Some other key differences of our wort chillers. We solder the copper tubes together at the top of the chiller, out of wort, so that the whole unit retains its shape. Other chillers use hose clamps which is a less permanent, but much cheaper, solution. The connection feeds on our chillers our bent out down at an angle so that if there is any dripping at the copper/vinyl connection point it drips out of the kettle and not back into your beer. Also works perfect with a kettle that features a notched lid. Made in the USA in our metal shop.

The Coolossus from KegLand features 23′ of wort line for cooling large batches. Made from fully passivated type 304 stainless, this large chiller has 3/8″ interior diameter wort line, so, unlike plate chillers, it is very hard to clog with hop and trub particles. The cooling water line is 22′ long, and both the cooling water and wort lines feature ½ BSPT threads on both ends, which connect to both ½” NPT and ½” BSP (straight thread) fittings. Highly recommended if you chill 10 gallons of wort or more at one time.
