For me, a quality utility sink is an important tool when homebrewing.  I’ve done interviews in the past and been asked… what is on your home brewing wish list.  I’ve felt a little silly answering…. a sink!  But, I’ve tried to clean homebrew gear in a regular kitchen sink and I don’t like it.  I much prefer a large, quality utility sink.  Having done it both ways, it makes a big difference come cleanup time.

I landed on pictured Gridmann sink because it is NSF certified, features stainless construction and has a large bowl size.  I really wanted a sturdy sink and wanted to get away from the plastic style utility sinks I had in the past.  In my experience those get scratched up over time.  Not a huge deal as I don’t… ferment in my sink, but still, I wanted to avoid another place for bacteria to hide.

Hello there! Thank you so much for your blog as its awesome to see different items that i also would be looking for in my own homebrewing adventure. I wanted to get your opinion on which sink you felt is better. I have been looking at both the plastic and the stainless steel to try and find a sink for my garage which would be purely for brew day cleanups. My biggest concern with the stainless is just the dimensions as I use 2 keggles and then a 20 gallon bru-gear brew pot so whatever the item, has to be able to hold that item in the sink to clean. I have seen https://www.amazon.com/Mustee-28F-Utilatub-Laundry-24-Inch/dp/B00E82WV8K/ref=pd_rhf_dp_p_img_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=CS78M5DREA4VEW3XE9QN as well as well its just HUGE which has grabbed my interest but wanted to get your opinion as you have done this already.

Hey Nathan! Of the two, this ss sink and the two tub Mustee, I like the stainless sink much better. Having said that, based on your vessel size the huge sink tub utilatub may be the way to go. I think I could handle a keggle or a 20 gallon kettle in my sink, but I think it would be easier with a huge tub. They make larger tub ss sinks, but they’re generally very expensive. Cheers!
