Induction uses magnetic waves to induce heat in FERRIC pots. AL will not work. Not all stainless has a ferric component to it. If you put a magnet on it and it sticks BINGO.

Have been cooking at home on induction for 5+ years.

Does this cooktop have enough power to bring 5 gal up to boil? May take a long time, sorry I don’t know.

I have a different model by the same company which I bought on NewEgg. It dies not come with a pot but rather a sautee pan kind of thing. You can use an aluminum pot on it, as I do, or if you have a stainless with a clad bottom, but most stainless pots will not work with induction, sadly.

I heat strike water on mine while I clean the stove for my boil.
