I use similar mats (different model, manufacturer and specs) and find them very handy.  I use them for drying brew day gear and glassware and also underneath my fermenter in my fermentation deep freeze to improve airflow and keep the fermenter out of any condensation that might show up).  I also use this in bottom of my kegerator.

The ones I use are meant for bar/food use and these are floor tiles, so you’d probably want to limit use to non-food applications like flooring and lining your kegerator or fermentation chamber.

For me, a quality utility sink is an important tool when homebrewing.  I’ve done interviews in the past and been asked… what is on your home brewing wish list.  I’ve felt a little silly answering…. a sink!  But, I’ve tried to clean homebrew gear in a regular kitchen sink and I don’t like it.  I much prefer a large, quality utility sink.  Having done it both ways, it makes a big difference come cleanup time.

My home-brewery or most of my home-brewery is in my basement.  It’s in a good sized utility room that was drastically underlit for home brewing purposes.  Same story for our last house.  Basement brew area, low light.

I’ve added several similar workshop lights [different model, specs and manufacturer] to the area and it’s made a huge difference.  Instead of what seemed like a cave, I’m now in a well lit space.  Those have made a big improvement, made it easier and more pleasant to work in my brewery.
