As of this posting, Iris’ website shows this [item 300555] as 12.75 Quarts or 3.1 gallons. My rule of thumb on grain storage is 5 lbs per gallon. With that estimate, this should hold about 15.5 lbs of unmilled grain. That’s a rough estimate, actual capacity will vary.

I have good luck with 4gal and 5gal frosting containers from local bakery w/gasket-lids. I use plastic trash bags inside which I fill with grain and then twist and secure inside the bucket. I keep in cool dark basement corner. Works very well and keeps for long time if sealed good. 4 or 5 will handle a 50lb sack and stack nicely. Way cheaper than some other storage container options.
