This is waterproof.  Waterproof, like… put it in the dishwasher sort of waterproof.

Maximum temp hold feature.  I think this is generally intended to test dishwashers to make sure they are getting hot enough, but this could be handy for homebrewing to test maximum temp of your kegerator or fermentation chamber/area.
