The ports on the side of this collection container are the same as a standard coke bottle or soft drink bottle. The threads are designed to fit the carbonation caps C35 and D80. 7.9 Gallon FermZilla Flat Bottom Fermenter – on sale for… $24.99, over HALF Off Intro Price

 FermZilla Flat Bottom Fermenter - 7.9 gal. / 30 L FE145

FermZilla Flat Bottom Fermenter – 7.9 gal. / 30 L

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The FermZilla Flat Bottom Fermenter is an excellent option for making all kinds of beverages, from beer and wine to kombucha and cold brew coffee. It’s compact, lightweight, and made of brilliantly smooth PET. The extra-large lid opening makes it easy to get your arm inside and scrub the walls clean after use. The Flat Bottom features the same lid as the Conical FermZilla’s, so installing accessories like a thermowell or Temp Twister Cooling Coil couldn’t be easier.

Why MoreBeer! loves the Flat Bottom FermZilla:

Super smooth PET makes cleaning very easy.
Tight-sealing lid and PET material make for a better oxygen barrier than fermenters made of HDPE.
Lightweight and easy to move around, yet strong enough to be considered shatterproof.
The 4.75″ lid opening makes it easy to get your arm inside and clean after use.
The lid is designed for the easy installation of accessories such as a thermowell or cooling coil.
Affordable! The Flat Bottom is one of the most affordable plastic fermenters in this size range.
What’s Included:

FermZilla 30L Flat Bottom Fermenter
3-Piece Airlock
Adhesive Thermometer
Adhesive Voume Marker
Specs:

30 L (7.9 gal) Total Volume
Temperature Rated to 122°F
Height – 18.5″
Height w/ Airlock – 22.5″
Tank Diameter – 13.75″
Lid Ports – 28 mm PCO 1881 threads

Please note: The Flat Bottom is not pressure rated and was not designed to carbonate in. For this reason, the lid does not come with a PRV like that which is included with the Conical FermZilla. The tank can withstand approximately 2 psi, but beyond that there is risk of deforming and damaging the tank.

FermZilla Pressure Fermenters – Back in Stock, On Sale + Free DuoTight Spunding Valve

Fermenting Under Pressure

Pressurized fermentations are becoming increasingly popular, and for a good reason. Some of the benefits that you gain from fermenting beer under pressure are: Lower ester production, being able to ferment at higher temperatures without producing off-flavors, and having your beer carbonated by the end of fermentation (rather than carbonating separately for over a week!). Called Unitanks because you can use them for both fermentation and carbonating. You can serve beer directly from uni tanks, counter pressure fill bottles or easily transfer beer into kegs using pressure.

Fermenting lagers under pressure is a huge benefit of unitank. When yeast ferment under pressure, the production of fruity esters is greatly reduced. This can allow you to brew a lager at 70F an obtain traditional lager flavor. All of the fementers listed below also allow for fermenting under no pressure or greatly reduced pressure which is preferable for making ales where the fruity esters are an essential part of the flavor profile.

  • MoreBeer has introduced several FermZilla Pressure Fermenter options.  Including conicals and All Rounder style fermenters.
  • These have been extremely popular since their introduction and have sold out quickly each time they’ve become available.
  • Shipping is free with a qualifying $59 order to many US addresses

Hands on Review: Delta Brewing Systems Fermtank TC

This review is by Homebrew Finds Contributor Brad Probert.  Brad is an engineer, expert homebrewer and experienced reviewer.  Grab a link to Brad’s website at the end of this review.

Delta Brewing Fermtank TC

Stainless steel is the material of choice for brewing equipment in general. For fermentors, that is especially the case. It is an ideal material for a fermentor because of its cleanability. Stainless is resistant to staining, is durable for scrubbing, and compatible with different cleaners. In contrast to plastic HDPE buckets, stainless can keep oxygen out of your fermenting wort.

Delta Brewing Systems offers a handful of homebrewing products, selling them since 2019. They sell two versions of their Fermtank stainless fermentor. The two have a lot of the same core features, but the recently released Fermtank with Tri-Clamps ups the game in a lot of key areas. The most obvious difference to other fermentors is the 8-gallon size. That size is designed to allow extra volume into the fermentor for those batches where you have a lot of dry hop debris left over (and thus you leave more liquid behind than you normally would). On paper, an 8-gallon fermentor sounds like overkill for a 5-gallon batch, but it’s designed to support all kinds of variations to get you 5 gallons into your serving keg. There are volume markings etched inside, starting at 3 gallons. The optional chilling coil extends down to the 3-gallon level (meaning if you want to chill your wort, you need more than 3 gallons). The thermowell sits at 3.75 gallons.

Bucket Buddy Electric Fermenter – 35L/9.25G (110V) via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

If you’ve been looking to step up from fermenting in plastic buckets or carboys, this is an excellent choice for your next fermenter. Stainless steel is a much better option than glass or plastic, as it is extremely easy to clean and virtually lasts forever. There’s also much less chance of contamination as stainless doesn’t scratch like plastic. Over time, you’ll get scratches in plastic fermenters from normal wear and tear, creating microscopic havens for bacteria. Meanwhile, glass carboys are always at risk of breaking which is something you will never have to worry about with stainless steel.

The Bucket Buddy represents a great value for a stainless fermenter in this size. Another advantage over carboys and plastic buckets is the domed base inside the fermenter which is great for yeast flocculation when fermentation is complete. The included racking arm will make it easy to transfer out every last drop of beer while leaving the yeast cake undisturbed. The entire racking arm and ball valve assembly is weldless, which means you can remove the assembly to clean and sanitize it between batches. You can even boil the assembly for added assurance that it’s been sterilized.

Also available with built-in heating element for fermenting in colder environments. You can also use a heat wrap or heat belt on the outside of this unit. To help maintain a steady temperature, the Bucket Buddy pairs well with either the BrewZilla Neoprene Jacket or the FermZilla Insulating Jacket. For cooling, you can place the fermenter in a dedicated refrigerator or drill into the lid to install a Temp Twister Cooling Coil. A temperature controller probe can then be inserted into the thermowell to control your heating and cooling sources.

This unit comes standard with silicone tubing to transfer from the ball valve to your bottles or cans, as well as a stopper and airlock for the domed lid.

Specifications:

304 stainless steel construction
9 gallon total capacity
Digital thermometer (Temp reads in °C)
Weldless thermowell
Stainless steel outlet valve with rotating racking arm
Stopper & airlock included
External Dimensions: 28″ H x 15″ W (including handles)
Internal Dimensions: 22″ H x 11.75″ W

FermZilla Conical Fermenter - 7.1 gal. / 27 L FE110

FermZilla Conical Fermenter – 7.1 gal. / 27 L via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The new and improved FermZilla in 27L brought to you by the critical minds and engineers behind the original Fermentasaurus Gen 1. Although the original Fermentasaurus was revolutionary at the time of its conception, there’s always room for improvement. This is partly due to the strong community of Fermentasaurus users who have helped push for an improved conical unitank.

The FermZilla is the perfect option for brewers that want all the advantages of a conical fermenter without the price tag of a full blown stainless steel unit. It allows you to dump trub, harvest yeast, and with the addition of the FermZilla Pressure Kit, you can carbonate and serve – all in one vessel! The clear PET tank allows you to visually monitor fermenation activity and is pressure rated to 2.4 Bar (34.8 psi), which means you can ferment under pressure, reducing ester and fusel alcohols in your finished beer. This also gives the ability to perform pressure transfers. If you prefer to move your finished beer to a keg or other vessel, you can do so with little to no oxygen exposure.

New and Improved:
1. Larger Dump Valve – 3″ butterfly dump valve is more resistant to clogging from large amounts of trub
2. Larger Opening – 4.75″ top port opening allows for easier cleaning
3. Less Headspace – more appropriately sized for 5-gallon batches. Purging the headspace of oxygen is easier and more effective.

What’s Included:
FermZilla 27L Tank with Butterfly Dump Valve (Pre-Assembled & Attached)
Reinforced Stainless Steel Stand
Top Lid with PRV (35 psi)
1000 ml Collection Container & Lid
3-Piece Airlock
Graduation Sticker
Adhesive Thermometer
Strap Wrench
Spare Seals
Specs:

27 L (7.1 gal) Total Volume
Pressure Rated to 2.4 Bar (34.8 psi)
Height in Stand – 28.3″
Height w/ Airlock – 32.7″
Tank Diameter – 13.9″
Diameter in Stand – 15.7″
Please note: when using the FermZilla under pressure, you must perform a water pressure check to ensure your connections are leak proof. To do this, fill your FermZilla up with water, apply at least 15 psi pressure, and check for leaks around all caps and threads.

3 Gallon FastFerment Conical Fermenter. Perfect for 1-2 gallon batches!

Easy & Efficient
The FastFerment System is a one-stage fermenter, which allows brewers & winemakers to do primary & secondary fermentation in the same unit. FastFerment eliminates racking & transferring between buckets & carboys. This saves approximately 80% of the time & labor needed to make a batch of beer or wine compared to traditional methods. With less equipment, clean up is easy.

Premium
FastFerment is a professional system for the average Homebrewer & Winemaker. The conical design limits exposure to oxygen & allows for yeast harvesting. The end result is consistent high quality batches of beer & wine.

Benefits Over Traditional Conicals
The downfall of other conical fermenters is that you have to ferment the product with the valve closed and then the sediment accumulates above the valve. When the fermentation is complete you have to open the valve and flush the sediment out the bottom. This results in two main issues:

You need to time the flushing of the sediment perfectly to ensure minimal loss of product.
As the sediment is flushed out, there will always be yeast and the sediment hazes that float up into the product remaining in the unit.

  • As of this posting this is marked down a whopping 50% to just $30!
  • Shipping is an additional cost based on your location.  Because of minimum shipping costs, it may make sense to place a larger order.  Additional items may ship for minimal cost.  Example: Shipping (for me) for 1 lb of Citra is $8.93.  2 lbs cost $9.18 to ship.  That second pound costs just 25 cents to ship.  That’s minimum shipping at work.

Stopper & airlock included
External Dimensions: 28″ H x 15″ W (including handles)

Announcing: Kegland Conical Fermenter

KegLand Conical Fermenter

KegLand Conical Fermenter via William’s Brewing

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

• Includes Extension Legs

• Large 1″ dump valve removes thick yeast sediments

• Included Thermowell fits all standard temperature probes

The KegLand 8 gallon Stainless Conical Fermenter is an excellent value. Made from 304 stainless, the inner welds are robotic and very smooth. A center 1” dump valve is large enough to let you get rid of yeast and trub without clogging, while a rotating racking arm lets you drain the fermenter while avoiding any sediment that may remain. The racking arm features a 3/8” diameter hose barb outlet for attaching tubing. Handles make it easy to move and clean.

The stainless lid is silcone gasket sealed, and a thermowell with removable digital centigrade only thermometer is provided, which has a ¼” inner diameter to accept probes from all the temperature controls we sell, including the RAPT Temperature Controller. The centigrade thermometer runs on two included LR44 button batteries.

The unit is 30” tall with airlock, and the included leg extensions will increase that to 33” tall, in case you want more room at the bottom to access the angled dump valve. It is 16” wide including the handles, while the fermenter itself is 13” wide. It features interior gallon markers from 4 to 8 gallons. The dump valve itself has 1” male threads.

FermZilla Pressure Fermenters! – On Sale + Free DuoTight Spunding Valve

FermZilla Conical Pressure Brewing Kit

Including conicals and All Rounder style fermetners.
  • These have been extremely popular since their introduction and have sold out quickly each time they’ve become available.
  • Shipping is free with a qualifying $59 order to many US addresses
