Applications:

PET Bottles as Growlers: These are generally intended to convert 1L and 2L bottles to growlers. Fill up a 1L or 2L PET bottle with your favorite homebrew. Put one of these on (purge the headspace by squeezing if you want to) and then pressurize for transport. This should help to reduce oxygen pickup and maintain carbonation levels.
Fine tune or rapidly carbonate beer: You can also use this cap to rapidly carbonate beer. Same process as for transport, just set your regulator to the proper pressure and shake or agitate the PET bottle to help introduce CO2. Or hook it up to CO2 and let it sit in you kegerator.

One of the questions that arises on these type of carb caps, is… does it work with both liquid and gas posts? Some models are universal fit and some work only with gas posts. For draft line cleaning projects to work well, at least in my opinion, the carb cap that’s used needs to be universal. I’m happy to report that the one I received did indeed work with both liquid and ball lock posts. Check product description for current specs.

Potential Uses: Help with cleanup on brew day, make your kegs shine like new (see photo below) and use around the kitchen and for BBQ. I use similar gloves when I apply rub for smoking meats. It helps to prevent against cross contamination and I also like that it helps keep my hands from smelling like… bbq rub. CIP (Clean in Place) Spray Balls are generally used for vessels that are too large to move. Since they’re too large to move you… clean them in place. If you have a larger setup, you could incorporate these into your system or routine to help clean your vessels more easily.

There are a couple of main styles of CIP spray balls stationary and rotary. Note that if you’re going to try and use this for sparging, you may want to use the fixed spray version as Sam did. You’re probably not going to get enough pressure with gravity alone to turn the rotary version.

I use a similar pump (different manufacturer, features and specifications) for a recirculating draft line cleaning setup. Note that fittings sizes are different on this pump vs the one I use in that build. Adjust accordingly Another possible homebrewing application would be to set this up for use a part of a recirculating wort chiller setup.
