Cannular Canning Machine

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The KegLand Cannular can seamer is one of the most compact and easy to use benchtop can seamers around. With a single operator you can seam/seal the cans in under 5 seconds meaning this compact machine is suitable for small breweries or brewpubs doing small production runs. The Cannular comes with a die for a size 202 beer can lid.  Additional dies will be available in the future, but for right now, only cans with a size 202 lid can be canned on this machine.

SAFE 24 VOLT POWER (OPTIONAL) If you have ever used a can seamer you would know that you can sometimes spill liquids while processing cans. As a result we have made the Cannular machine with 24v DC so even when you make a mess you don’t have a risk of electrocuting yourself. This also makes the machine easier to clean and wash down. An optional step down transformer plugs into any 110 volt outlet. If you do not purchase this optional transformer, you need to get an Anderson Plug twin wire lead so you can feed power into the Cannular Canning Machine.  Suitable DC power sources besides transformers include cordless drill batteries, and even car batteries.

GO ANYWHERE & EASILY RECYCLED Cans are a fantastic choice for outdoor events, parties, pool events, or at the beach. Broken glass can be dangerous and difficult to clean up completely. Cans on the other hand are the safest choice in this respect.

LIGHT BLOCK  Many beverages especially beer can get damaged quickly due to light. If you expose many beers to sunlight for even 5 minutes the beer can become light damaged (“skunked”). Even softer light such as indoor lights will damage beer over time and noticeable skunking can occur with both incandescent and fluorescent light globes within hours. So unless you keep your glass bottles in the dark all the time you will compromise the beer quality. Aluminium cans solve this problem by blocking 100% of damaging light. Dimensions 14″ depth x 9″ wide x 20″ height.

The Cannular Canning machine comes already adjusted to use the 500ml cans that we sell. If however you use different can sizes or the machine has become out of alignment in shipping you may need to adjust the Cannular.

Cannular is rarely discounted. Periodically you’ll see some limited scratch and dent deals but almost never is there a discount on brand new units.

  • For a limited time William’s Brewing has Cannular on sale for just $449.99 as part of their Year End Clearance!
  • Update: They’ve dropped the price to just $379. That’s a $170.99 savings.
  • For some pricing clarity, this is LESS than I’ve seen used units sell for. Wms has previously sold used units for $399.99.
  • For Comparison MoreBeer has this for $549.99.

20% Off Bulk Empty Crowlers – works with Cannular Pro!

Silver Aluminum Crowler (946ml/32oz) - Case of 149 Cans and Ends CAN113

The Cannular Pro Can Seamer can seam Crowlers when used with the Chuck Adapter for Ball 300 Ends.

Bulk Crowlers from MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

Take your beer on the go and leave the glass at home! These large 32 oz crowlers are a great replacement for heavy, fragile glass growlers. Fully compatible with the Cannular Pro Can Seamer when used with the Chuck Adapter for Ball 300 Ends.

Aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. There’s still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. When a crown cap is crimped onto a bottle, the lining of the cap can form an imperfect seal on the bottle, allowing small amounts of oxygen in, as well as small amounts of CO2 out. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation. Seamed cans form a much better seal, which can prevent these issues

Aside from better protection, aluminum cans are undoubtedly the safest option for sharing and enjoying your homebrew. Bring your canned creations tailgating, camping, boating, or crack a few open poolside without the worry of broken glass!

To use these cans with the Cannular Pro Can Seamer you will also need the CAN112 chuck adapter.

32 oz / 946 mL aluminum crowlers
Each case contains 149 cans and lids
300/307 x 710 Crowler
One case is enough for roughly seven 5-gallon batches of beer
Compatible with the Cannular Pro Can Seamer when used with Ball 300 Chuck Adapter (CAN112)
Water-based polymer interior coating
Please note that empty aluminum cans are very delicate, and up to 5% of the cans are likely to be dented or damaged in transit. If the cans were packed in a more protective (more expensive) cardboard box, the cost per can would be more expensive than simply having some dented/sacrificial cans arrive.

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer CAN100

Cannular Bench Top Can Seamer via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The Cannular is a manual can seamer that is easy to use, reliable and beautifully simple.

Whether you’re a brewery looking to offer canned beer to go or a homebrewer wanting to keep your creations fresh and fully protected from light, the Cannular is the answer. This bench top unit is one of the most compact and easy to use can seamers you’ll find. The Cannular only requires one person to operate, and each can takes roughly 5 seconds to seam. With a two-person team, one filling and one seaming, the Cannular becomes a suitable option for nano breweries doing small canning production runs.

Operation:
The beauty of the Cannular lies in how truly simple it is to operate. With only three points of operation, it only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the machine. The seaming process is as follows:

Place lid atop the can and place the can on the platform
Turn the platform lever clockwise to raise the can to the seamer
Press the button to turn the machine on and begin spinning the can
Push the seaming lever away from you and hold for 1-2 seconds
Pull the seaming lever towards yourself and hold for 1-2 seconds
Press the button to turn off the machine and stop spinning the can
Turn the platform lever counterclockwise to lower the can
That’s all there is to it!

Construction:
The Cannular was designed to be compact, durable, and safe to operate in a wet environment. The platform assembly is made from 304 grade stainless steel, so no matter how messy your canning gets, there’s no need to worry about rusting or degradation. The body of the unit is made from hammered sheet metal and bolted together with stainless steel screws. Rubber feet help keep the unit from slipping and sliding while in use. Additionally, the Cannular features built-in brackets near the feet so you have the option to mount the machine to your counter or benchtop. The Cannular runs off of 24v DC power via the Anderson socket located on the back. This lower voltage was chosen specifically to make the unit as safe to use in a wet environment as possible.

Power:
As noted above, the Cannular comes with a 24v DC Anderson socket located on the back of the unit. It does not, however, include a cord and plug. When purchasing the unit, you’ll have the option of pairing it with either a power supply with 110v plug, or with a 6 ft. long cord with Anderson plug and alligator clips. The power supply is straight forward, and allows you to plug the unit into a standard 110v power socket. The alligator clips give you the option to power the unit from a battery, and can even be used with an 18v cordless power drill battery. This is certainly the most affordable option for powering the Cannular, and we’ve found that upwards of 200 cans can be seamed on a single battery charge.

Why Cans?
So why can when you can bottle? There’s no doubt that canning has become a more and more popular format for packaging beer among craft breweries over the last several years, and with good reason. Aluminum cans aren’t just more environmentally friendly than bottles, since cans require less energy to transport and recycle, they’re also much better at protecting the quality of the beer. Whereas bottles allow in light, which leads to skunking, aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. Seamed cans, on the other hand, form a much better seal that can prevent these issues. Of course, it’s important to make sure that the can is purged of oxygen before being filled, and that the can lid is sealed atop foam to eliminate oxygen from the headspace. Aside from all the “sciency stuff”, cans are just plain safer. Take your beer backpacking, camping, or poolside and rest assured that broken glass won’t ruin your day!

Cannular Pro Semi-Auto Bench Top Can Seamer

Cannular Pro Semi-Auto Bench Top Can Seamer via MoreBeer

More Info

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

The Cannular Pro is a semi-automatic can seamer that is easy to use, reliable, and beautifully simple.

Whether you’re a brewery looking to offer canned beer to go or a homebrewer wanting to keep your creations fresh and fully protected from light, the Cannular is the answer. This bench top unit is one of the most compact and easy to use can seamers you’ll find. The Cannular only requires one person to operate, and each can takes roughly 3 seconds to seam. With a two-person team, one filling and one seaming, the Cannular becomes a suitable option for nano breweries doing small canning production runs.

Cannular Pro vs. Manual Unit
This new Semi-Auto Pro model will guarantee you get a consistent seaming process every time. Unlike the less expensive manual can seamer, this machine has no lever for the seaming operation, meaning it’s even easier for the operator to seam the can consistently and will not vary on how hard the operator is pulling the lever.

Another major difference is that the Cannular’s Pro table spacer is specially designed to work with both 500ml (16.9 oz) and 330ml (11.2 oz) Can Fresh Aluminum Cans right out of the box. Unlike the manual model that requires a secondary table spacer for use with 330ml cans, the Pro model features an adjustable platform, allowing you to raise or lower the table spacer depending on what size can you’re seaming. We have tested standard 202 cans and have been able to achieve good seals with proper adjustments. It is necessary to adjust the table height to ensure you have the appropriate amount of pressure applied when the can lift is raised.

Operation:
The beauty of the Cannular lies in how truly simple it is to operate, and the semi-automatic pro model makes canning beer even easier. With only three points of operation, it only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the machine. The seaming process is as follows:

  • Place lid atop the can and place the can on the table spacer
  • Turn the platform lever clockwise to raise the can to the seamer
  • Press the seaming operation button then wait for the can to stop spinning
  • Turn the platform lever counterclockwise to lower the can
  • That’s all there is to it!

Construction:
The Cannular was designed to be compact, durable, and safe to operate in a wet environment. The platform assembly is made from 304 grade stainless steel, so no matter how messy your canning gets, there’s no need to worry about rusting or degradation. The body of the unit is made from hammered sheet metal and fastened together with stainless steel screws. Rubber feet help keep the unit from slipping and sliding while in use. In addition, the Cannular features built-in brackets near the feet so you have the option to mount the machine to your counter or benchtop. The Cannular runs off of 24V DC power via the Anderson socket located on the back. This lower voltage was chosen specifically to make the unit as safe to use in a wet environment as possible.

As noted above, the Cannular comes with a 24V DC Anderson socket located on the back of the unit. It does not, however, include a cord and plug. When purchasing the unit, you have the option of pairing it with either a power supply with 110V plug (CAN101), or with a 6 ft. long cord with Anderson plug and alligator clips (CAN102).

Please note: When you receive your cannular the rollers have been set and tested at the factory. They should not need adjustment for 100,000 cans. The table, however, comes unadjusted and getting it set up correctly is very important to getting a proper seal. Cannular’s test show that a .4mm (.015″) actual overlap is all that is needed to seal to 90 PSI. The proper table tension takes a little practice and expect to waste a few cans getting it dialed in. Once you learn the proper tension re-adjusting it is very quick and easy. You want the tension to be tight but not so tight as to dent the can. Use cans at your fill height with water for proper tension adjustment.

Works with Crowlers!

The Cannular Pro can be adapted for use with 32 oz Crowlers (Ball 300 can/end). To seam Ball 300 end/lid type oversized aluminium cans you will need to purchase the required Chuck for 1L (32 oz) Crowlers separately.

Power:
As noted above, the Cannular comes with a 24V DC Anderson socket located on the back of the unit. It does not, however, include a cord and plug. When purchasing the unit, you have the option of pairing it with either a power supply with 110V plug (CAN101), or with a 6 ft. long cord with Anderson plug and alligator clips (CAN102).

From the product description, check product page for current description, price and availability:

Please Note: these Cannular units were shipped from the manufacturer with the seaming rollers installed in reverse. The seamer functions the same, but the seaming operations are flipped. You will need to pull the lever toward you for the 1st op, and push the lever away for the 2nd op. Please be aware that the plaque on the side of the unit will show the opposite.

The Cannular is a manual can seamer that is easy to use, reliable, and beautifully simple.

The Cannular’s table spacer is specifically designed to work with 500ml (16.9 oz) Can Fresh aluminum cans (CAN150). 330ml (11.2 oz) Can Fresh cans are also available (CAN133), but you will need the correct table spacer to use them with the seamer (CAN103). We have tested standard 202 cans and have been able to achieve good seals with proper adjustments. It is necessary to adjust the table height to ensure you have the appropriate amount of pressure applied when the can lift is raised.

Reverse Roller Operation:
The beauty of the Cannular lies in how truly simple it is to operate. With only three points of operation, it only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the machine. The seaming process is as follows:
Place lid atop the can and place the can on the table spacer
Turn the platform lever clockwise to raise the can to the seamer
Press the button to turn the machine on and begin spinning the can
Pull the seaming lever towards you and hold for 1-2 seconds
Push the seaming lever away from you and hold for 1-2 seconds
Press the button to turn off the machine and stop spinning the can
Turn the platform lever counterclockwise to lower the can
That’s all there is to it!

Getting a Deal on Cans for Your Homebrew Can Seamer

Why Can?

Cans block all light and oxygen transfer. That’s not true of bottles. They also play well at the park, beach and pool. Glass bottles are made from breakable glass that can… break. 🙂 Canning is also… cool. We’ve been able to pretty easily do everything that commercial brewers have been able to do – Conicals, Control Panels, Fermenting Under Pressure and More – for quite some time. Canning, until recently, was a hold out.

Homebrew Can Seamers

Before the advent of countertop can seamers, canning beer was out of reach and unrealistic for homebrewers and even some smaller brew pub operations.  I looked into canning early in my homebrewing career. Around that time a manufacturer released an “affordable” system that was in the $10k, range. That was considered affordable at the time. I’m happy to say that times have changed.

Make Your Own Canned Cocktails – Get a Home Canner!

If you’re looking to make your own home canned cocktails, you’re going to need a… canner. When I started a homebrewing years ago an an “affordable” system that was in the $10k, range. That was considered affordable at the time. I’m happy to say that times have changed. Home sized systems are available at a relatively reasonable cost.

The other Cannular deal we periodically see are refurbished units. When those pop up they tend to sell out in relatively short order. I have no idea how many revere roller units they have, but I could see them selling out quickly.

Beer Valve Connector
This accessory allows you to hook up the Tapcooler directly to your keg (with a ball lock or pin lock disconnect), vs plugging it into your draft faucet.
