Use for yeast starters to increase cell counts to have better and more vigorous fermentations.

Beakers vs Erlenmeyer Flasks for yeast starters?  Beakers have a few advantages compared to Erlenmeyer flasks. They’re more space efficient, easier to clean and they seem to also generally have a price advantage. Erlenmeyer flasks have the advantage of a small opening that can take a stopper and airlock. An easy solution for beaker is a piece of sanitized foil and a rubber band.
