The Grainfather is an electric all grain brewing system.  Mash temperature is precisely controlled with an electric heating element.  A pump recirculates throughout the mashing process ensuring even temperatures.  At the end of the mash, The Grainfather becomes your electric brew kettle.  The Grainfather includes a counterflow chiller.  8 Gallon system for indoor or outdoor brewing.

I love my Grainfather. Really simplifies the day. I’ve made 5 beers on it now and everyone of them has been outstanding. I use my in the garage and don’t have any issues with excessive steam.. This is a heck of a deal! If you end up buying one, check out the Facebook groups for tips and tricks.

i’m looking forward to your review. I may have to bite on one of these at some point but i’d like to put it in my basement and I imagine you still need some kind of hood /exhaust fan to get rid of the moisture from boiling.

I don’t have an exhaust fan in my basement and have not had a problem. The boil of rate on this is lower than a traditional system, maybe 1/2 gallon per hour. That’s a downside in one sense, but an upside when it comes to ventilation. Having said that, the need for an exhaust fan is going to be determined by your setup.

i’m starting to read the homebrewtalk forum (damn it is long), someone mentioned they use it in the bathtub, that sounds like a good idea too – for cleanup and I could hit the bathroom exhaust fan if needed

That’s a pretty good idea. As long as the bathtub can handle it I suppose. I do want to get an exhaust vent set up and I plan to. We’re in the process of moving right now, so that would be something for the next house.

Looks like INSTABREW is no longer valid – no only allows for the site listed ALLGRAIN promo code, which is just 10%.
