I went to there website and took a look at the active fermentations and the gravity readings are sort of all over the place. Many of the profiles show gravity increasing in the first couple of days and then settling into a nice continuous downward slope. That could be user error not getting their “torpedo” all the way in or perhaps the readings are not quite as accurate as they should be. This is an awesome idea but I am holding off until I see more realistic results.

Does the Brew Pi also function as a hydrometer? I did a search of their site for words like “gravity” and “hydrometer” but found no reference to it. If this feature is accurate in the beer bug, I’d really like being able to check gravity by checking a website rather than taking multiple samples. I’d love one if it works, but unfortunately at that price it’s just too much for me to consider purchasing. Maybe if it were $100 or so.

The beer bug seems way to pricey for what it is…. Currently I and using the Brew Pi and Love, Love Love it

It offers far more customization and gives charts, history and runs on a schedule if you want… completely web driven and does not require a public website…. it runs on the local LAN and can be seen from the world if you open a port on your router to it….. the costs are about the same and it is so far more useful IMHO.
