Reader Feedback: Dual Scale Refractometer, Heavier Duty - $30.59 Shipped

HBF Reader Kirby saw this great refractometer deal...

Economic Beer Wort and Wine Refractometer, Dual Scale - Specific Gravity and Brix - $25.00 Shipped!

and ended up deciding to purchase an upgraded model from the same seller...

from Kirby:
Just got it today and played around testing distilled water and some wort I have going. So far I am very impressed with this one’s heft feel, and apparent quality level. I was easy to adjust the view cup and was able to read the sg levels very easily and was much clearer than I imagined it could be.

I was worried about the clarity of the scale figuring that if I couldn't see the lines on an enlarged computer screen, it might be worse in reality. This was a wrong assumption as the scale was perfectly clear you can distinguish each line after adjusting the view finder, much clearer than the computer screen image.

Happy I went with that one.

Thanks for the feedback Kirby!

The seller claims to be the manufacturer of this particular refractometer.  It's made of sturdy aluminum and they say that it is 50% heavier than other units.

  1. I purchased this refractometer from eBay, but I still haven't received it yet despite paying for it nearly 2 weeks ago.

Supposedly the mail man either lost it after picking it up from their warehouse or it was misplaced after being labelled for shipping but before the mail man picked it up.

The seller has been very apologetic but 2 weeks later they still haven't shipped me one, original or not.

    Just my experience, YMMV.
