Twin Cities: Midwest Winemaking Groupon! Equipment, Ingredients and $25 Voucher for $79!

EDIT: this is for in store pickup only.

Midwest has a Winemaking Groupon out today!  Looks to be a similar deal to their Homebrewing Groupon and arguably an even better deal.

For $79 you get...
  • An equipment kit
  • Your choice of a red or white wine ingredient kit.  That includes juice, yeast and additional fermenting and stabilizing agents.
  • $25 voucher toward a future purchase.
The equipment kit includes:
  • Instructional DVD
  • 7.5 gallon plastic fermenter with lid
  • 6 gallon Plastic PET Carboy
  • Stopper
  • Airlock
  • Bottle brush
  • Hydrometer
  • 8 ounces of Easy Clean No-Rinse Cleanser
  • Plastic plunger corker
  • 30- #8 X 1 3/4" straight corks
  • Racking cane
  • 5 feet of siphon tubing
  • Bottle filler
  • Shut-off clamp
  • Equipment instructions
This is a $162 value for $79.  That's amazing!

The suggested use of the $25 voucher is bottles, but you can use it toward anything on your next order (via the Q&A)

This is a great deal.

  1. Just figured out it was pickup only after ordering. Go through Groupon to issue a refund?

    1. I would say yes, go through Groupon. This was an oversight on my part. I have updated the post to let everyone know this is a local deal.

  2. Also be aware that unlike past groupons, the printing indicates that the $25 gift cert cannot be used on anything but the wine kits. Had a helluva time trying to use my last one...

    1. So you have to buy a groupon, pick up the item in the store, then can only apply your $25 gift certificate to another wine kit which you now already own.

      What a rotten deal.
