Bel-Art 1 Liter Lab Containers (2 Pack) - $7.23, Save 82%

These are 1 liter LDPE Lab Bottles from Bel-Art.  According to Bel-Art's technicians LDPE has a maximum temperature of 80 degrees C/176 degrees F.  I mention this because these look similar to the HDPE containers I recommend using for yeast rehydration on the Tips Page.  The difference is, HDPE can withstand higher temps.

So... these are a great deal, but don't use boiling water with them or microwave.  Still good for yeast washing, just sanitize and use cooled boiled water.  You could also use these for general storage around the brewery.

If you're interested, here are the 500 mL HDPE Bottles that I use for yeast rehydration.  My process for that is outlined in Tip 1 on the Tips Page.

  1. This is a small yet very useful container. This Lab container can be used as a spill containment item for liquid materials.
